about
JIVAMUKTI
जीवन्मुक्ति
Jivamukti is an integrative yoga method that combines elements from different traditions. Asana is generally practiced in vinyasa style – linking movement, breath and intention. Yoga philosophy and devotional aspects are skillfully woven into each practice.
Céline has been studying Jivamukti yoga since 2006 under the guidance of the founders Sharon Gannon and David Life, as well as senior teachers such as Yogeswari, Lady Ruth, Patrick Broome and Gabriela Bozic. Initially attracted by the vigorous asana practice, Céline then learned to deeply appreciate the focus on bhakti (devotion), non-violence and compassion towards all beings and the worldwide community of like-minded practicioners (satsang).

Descriptions
-
A full spectrum class that is dynamic and vigorous and includes all five pillars of Jivamukti yoga. Open to all as modifications will be offered for the more complex and challenging forms. Body awareness and overall fitness are certainly helpful. It is recommended to visit some basic classes before or parallel to the open classes to get a better understanding of the fundamentals.
-
A fun and dynamic weekend class at Svarupa taught by different teachers.
-
While also dynamic this class is a little more slow than an open class, and offers time to explore some of the fundamental poses and sequences in more depth. The focus is generally on a specific group of asanas.
-
Here you learn all the fundamental asanas from scratch, explore different options, work with props, learn proper breathing techniques and how to put breath and movement together into a flow. Currently offered in a workshop format. For upcoming dates check workshops.
-
Gentle movements, breathing techniques, meditation, chanting, restorative asanas and guided relaxation.
